MARK CORBIN, Owner As a homegrown Vermonter, gardening is naturally in Mark's blood. In a search to create a greener urban landscape, he has brought his passion for design, creativity and plant-growing experience to Boston. His many years working on a four-season diversified farm while teaching paid off when he earned a first place award for Historic Windsor, Vermont's 2007 Summer Garden Contest. He holds a BA in History from St. Michael's College and an Ed.M in Policy, Planning and Administration from Boston University. When Mark's not out digging up dirt, he's active in South End community projects and involved with urban youth development projects.

BEN WOLFE Ben developed his interest in gardening at an early age designing his family's gardens in rural Pennsylvania. Since moving to Boston, Ben has approached the city with an eye for creating beautiful landscapes. In 2009, Ben won the Golden Trowel top prize in Mayor Menino's Garden Contest for best rooftop garden, and second-place for best vegetable garden. He holds a PhD in evolutionary biology at Harvard University. His research focused on soil ecology, and the beneficial bacteria and fungi that are often overlooked when discussing soil health. Previously, Ben earned a MS in Botany from the University of Guelph and a BS in Plant Science from Cornell University. He resides in the South End and is currently working on post-doc research.

NICO MARTINEZ Nico's knowledge and passion for sustainable practices, design, and green urbanism has been a great addition to the SEG team. At a young age he was taught the importance of stewardship on his family's farm in Colombia that raises free-range cattle, and is committed to soil and ecosystem preservation. He earned a BS in Architecture from Los Andes University in Bogota, Colombia, and holds LEED GA accreditation from the United States Green Building Council. In his spare time, Nico enjoys building and refinishing furniture, as well as hiking and cycling with his wife Kristen.

TED JOSE An avid outdoorsman, Ted grew up in Maine spending his free time fishing, skiing, camping, hiking, and gardening. His love of the outdoors and passion for design led him to pursue a career in landscape architecture. He attended Connecticut College where he earned a BA in Architectural Studies and Art History and he is currently attending the Boston Architectural College pursuing an MLA in landscape architecture. His studies focus on developing sustainable urban landscapes utilizing the city of Boston as a living laboratory. Ted currently resides in the South End, and when he is not studying he is actively involved in community design projects or planning his next wilderness adventure.
